A few days ago I did a family photoshoot in Mallorca that still has me smiling. It was a lovely family from Arizona. She looked like she could be on the cover of a magazine, her husband was calm and thoughtful, and their three-year-old son Sebastián had the most contagious energy. They got in touch after seeing my work on my website and Instagram.

They wrote to me from somewhere in Europe. They had been traveling as a family for three months, exploring the old continent.
One of the countries they had fallen in love with the most, they told me, was Switzerland. But they wanted something special to end the trip something that would last forever. That’s how we met in the north of Mallorca.
From the very first moment I knew it was going to be a magical family photoshoot in Mallorca. They had it all: chemistry, style and most importantly a genuine connection. But it wasn’t the kind of connection you force or pose for.
It was that natural closeness you feel just by the way they looked at each other, played with their child or walked arm in arm without needing to say a word.

I chose two locations I love that work beautifully for family photography sessions in Mallorca. First, a Mediterranean forest area where golden light filters through the pine trees. Then later in the afternoon we headed to a hidden beach accessible by a wooden walkway that winds through the dunes.
That blend of Mallorcan landscape between wild nature and the sea always brings depth and variety to the session.

She is one of those people who fills a space without even trying. Tall, elegant, confident. She wore a long flowing white dress that moved beautifully with every step. But beyond the visual what struck me most was the way she interacted with her son. She knelt down to his level lifted him up in her arms. That is where true beauty lies in spontaneity.

Sebastián is three years old and carries the whole world in his eyes. As soon as he got out of the car, he started exploring. It was as if everything around him ,the trees, the pinecones, the insects was part of a game made just for him.
In a family photoshoot in Mallorca like this with young children, I don’t try to direct too much. I follow their rhythm. I become an observer with a camera. He ran, laughed, hid behind his mother. Everything was a discovery. And that is what comes through in the photos not poses, but real moments.

At the beach, once we arrived at the end of the wooden walkway, Sebastián was overwhelmed with joy. He took off his shoes without anyone saying a word and ran straight to the shoreline. The sun was slowly setting, giving us that warm light you only get at the end of the day.It was one of those moments when nothing needs to be said you just shoot.

They had visited several countries before finally arriving in Spain. Told me that in Switzerland, they felt a deep connection with nature.
In Mallorca, they wanted something different. They wanted to end their journey with an experience one that would be captured in images. Their goal was to preserve the essence of this special time as a family, far from home and far from routine.
And I think that was the most beautiful part of this family photoshoot in Mallorca. It wasn’t just a set of beach photos. It was the end of a chapter filled with exploration and discovery.
The images became the visual memory of that journey. They don’t just show a place they capture an emotion, a moment in time, and a way of being together.

They walked hand in hand across the wooden walkway and I followed behind capturing each step as if it were a scene from a film. It was one of my favorite moments as a photographer in Mallorca.
